VANCOUVER, British Columbia - The Nashville Predators will face the Vancouver Canucks in the first round of the 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs, the NHL announced on Tuesday.
The Predators clinched their playoff berth with a 3-1 victory over the Canucks on Tuesday night. Nashville finished the season with a 44-27-11 record, good for third place in the Central Division. The Canucks, meanwhile, finished with a 36-34-12 record and finished sixth in the Pacific Division.
The Predators and Canucks have met in the playoffs twice before, with the Canucks winning both series. The two teams last met in the 2011 Western Conference Semifinals, with the Canucks winning in six games.
The Predators will be looking to make a deep playoff run this year, after being eliminated in the first round in each of the past two seasons. The Canucks, meanwhile, will be looking to make a run to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time since 2011.
Game 1 of the series will be played in Vancouver on Thursday, April 25. Game 2 will be played in Vancouver on Saturday, April 27. The series will then shift to Nashville for Games 3 and 4 on Tuesday, April 30 and Thursday, May 2.
In other news, the Predators have recalled defenseman Gustavs Grigals from their ECHL affiliate, the Atlanta Gladiators. Grigals has played in 45 games with the Gladiators this season, recording 11 goals and 22 assists.
The Predators will need all the help they can get in the playoffs, and Grigals could provide some much-needed depth on the blue line.
